On the authority of Ibn Abbas, who reported that the Prophet, peace be
upon him, said: "Two sounds are cursed in this world and the Hereafter: The sound
of flutes (musical instruments) [also singing] on the occasion of joy, and the
sound of screaming [also wailing] upon the occurrence of calamity."
