Al-Rabii bin Habib reported
from Abu Ayyub Al Ansari that the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of
Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts
during Ramadan, and then follows it with six days from Shawwal it is as if he
had fasted the entire year."
